Partnerships in the Cévennes
As organizers of the hosting venue, we collaborate with the village’s cultural actors, the Sud Cévennes Tourism Office, the local government, teachers at the school and parents who bring their children from nearby villages. We further invigorate the local cultural community and increase its demand for and openness to diversity, incorporating perspectives and creations different from the local ones.
French-Hungarian Relations
Our extensive French-Hungarian network forms the cornerstone of our international collaborations. Part of our mission is to showcase the shared values of these two European countries: both progressiveness and tradition. Therefore, we are committed to presenting contemporary Hungarian art as well as traditional folk customs that are part of Hungary’s cultural heritage.
Godot Institute of Contemporary Art (GICA)
For 25 years, the Godot Institute of Contemporary Art in Budapest has been one of the most important centers of Hungarian contemporary art, where the works of Hungarian and international artists meet the public. The winner of their annual “Art Expo” exhibition participates in a creative residency program at our Hors du Temps third place, which concludes with an exhibition open to the French audience. This collaboration builds a bridge between Hungarian and French cultural life.
Tündérbölcső (Fairy Cradle) Cultural, Pedagogical and Artistic Foundation
The foundation focuses on the development of young children and the importance of cultural heritage. Its programs aim to develop children’s skills. Their representatives have organized state and municipal projects, thematic craft and gastronomy fairs, cultural and tourism events, conferences, multidisciplinary festivals, heritage preservation and cultural programs, corporate events, family days, and playhouses, all with the goal of community building and value preservation. Their traveling playhouse also visits the south of France.
“Hongroiseries” (Hungaricisms)
Did you know that the French language has incorporated numerous words of Hungarian origin? One of the founders of our association, András Ecsedi-Derdák, former director of the Hungarian Institute in Paris, collected these expressions with his colleague, writer and translator Zoltán Jeney.
